Romney wins in Newberry
Published April 11th, 2007 in Scoops.
Everyone says that if you win Newberry County, you win the state.
Actually, we only know one person who says that and we are pretty sure he’s full of it. But if it were true, Mitt Romney would be on his way to a grand primary victory because tonight he dominated the Newberry County straw poll.
Romney - 24
Brownback - 10
Hunter - 4
Giuliani -1
McCain – 0 (McMaster wasn’t there to help this time)
F. Thompson – 0
Huckabee – 0
Newt - 0
As goes Maine, so goes Vermont… still too small a statistical base, though as an indicator of the cadre of the Newberry county party it does point out where campaigns may need to recruit outside the executive committee.
Intersting to see Brownback and Hunter, both anticipated to press the flesh at Charleston’s county convention Friday night in the second and third place spots.
I guess the McCheaters couldn’t rig a county that has good party leadership.
Zero votes though. That has to sting.
Whhooooo hooooo Romney 2008!!!!!
Brownback. No tv commercials. No mass mailings. No hirings of Party leaders. Almost half the vote of Romney, 2x Hunter, 10x Guilliani and McCain. Worth watching.
