Paying The Man

To help our readers celebrate the tax season we thought we would share an article describing just how some of your tax dollars are being spent.  Each year Americans work an average of 120 days to pay the man and can only begin working for themselves and their families around April 30th. Doesn’t that just stick in your craw?
If that doesn’t do it for you, while you were working to pay the bill for our government, guess how the government was working for you. They were taking junkets to the Caribbean and other destination hotspots around the globe. From an article on Congressional Junkets we found in the Examiner:
All told, the military flew at least 13 congressional delegations to various destinations during the Easter recess — at an estimated rate of $10,000 or more per flying hour.
So, while you and your family work hard to pull yourselves up by the boot straps, this is what your hard earned dollars are going toward. Some good ‘ole fact finding trips to a sandy beach in the tropics sounds good to me!
Happy Tax Day!
