Way to go Brownback
Published May 14th, 2007 in Uncategorized.I love the website Pandora.com. For those of you not familiar with the website, it is online radio station that allows you create your own radio stations based on artist and songs you like. It’s pretty awesome, especially if you spend most of your working day at a computer.
Apparently, the RIAA , which represents traditional radio broadcast outlets wants to prevent Pandora and other internet radio stations from broadcasting. Something I personally think would stink to high heaven (I’m all about competition in the marketplace).
Enter Sam Brownback.
Sen. Brownback is sponsoring the Internet Radio Equality Act with Sen. Ron Wyden that would allow for the continuation of online broadcasting. I don’t know if this will garner any additional primary support for the Senator’s Presidential Campaign, but it is pretty cool nonetheless.Â
If only we could get some judges to agree with Senator Brownback… It seems like the RIAA is able to shut down just about any attempt to circulate cheap music through litigation.
Check out the other great stuff Sam Brownback has done @ www.brownback.com. He is the GOP’s best choice for President.
