Okay, its time to vent just a bit.
We’ve been hearing some criticism from folks because we seem bias at times. Every once in a while we seem opinionated.
Well guess what folks…we are opinionated. Do you know anyone in politics who isn’t opinionated and a little bias? Aren’t opinions the whole reason for being in politics?
And quite frankly, people without opinions piss us off. Democracy is all about having and sharing opinions. It’s why our government is great.Â
If you don’t like our opinions, say so. It’s why we allow you to comment on our blog posts. And if you don’t want to do that, if all you want to do is call us names and criticize our methods – go away! Don’t come back. We aren’t forcing you to come here. We are just giving you a forum to maturely debate issues. So chill out, have a beer, and argue with us in a thoughtful manner.
We started The Shot last year to give you folks an unbiased news aggregator. We get up every morning at 5:30 am, visit hundreds of news outlets, and put them all in one place for you FOR FREE. We even send out an email to over 1000 subscribers every single morning…again FOR FREE. We then check those sites again a few times a day and update the site continuously. We don’t charge you. We don’t even make any money off it. We sell ads to pay for our hosting and email program and have yet to break even.Â

Then there’s The Chaser. We got a little bored last year just giving you an unbiased collection of news so we started The Chaser to give you insider tidbits, gossip, and our opinions on certain issues. We admit…The Chaser is biased at times. We don’t hide anything. You can tell what we like and who we like and dislike.

We want to thank the over 3000 unique visitors we get everyday. It’s a pleasure putting all this together for you.
I imagine that most of your complaints are coming from “old dusties” who have no idea what a news blog actually is. I only recently started a blog that is actually tame in comparison and you won’t believe the people I have already managed to tick off and yet I have only recently started to list it in the search engines. My personal fun will come when the Liberals start weighing in. The friendly dusties are boring. The way I look at it, if you have no complaints you are obviously not doing a bit of good. I say keep up the good work and keep being opinionated!
Aside from your occasional grammatical errors (i know your mamas taught you better than that, boys), y’all have nothing to be ashamed of. Your website is informative, innovative and extremely up to date. We dig you! And, like your detractors, we too will continue to read everyday! Rock on, Shot!
