McCain Loses County Chair over Immigration
Published June 7th, 2007 in Presidential. This is an e-mail that was forwarded to us at the Shot. It appears that McCain lost the support of at least one county chairman due to his immigration policy. Please note the former Aiken County Chairman’s use of the word “amnestyâ€.

Adam,
Â
Please consider this my resignation as Aiken County chair for McCain. I am too far from him on the Amnesty Bill. I was hopeful that he could keep his nose clean this time around, but he can’t read the pulse of the American citizens.
Â
Please pass my regrets on to Henry McMaster.

Â
County Chairs,
Â
As most of you saw last night, Senator McCain did extremely well last night. The attached document includes much of what the media is saying about his leadership and the fact that he doesn’t back down from difficult issues.
Â
The debate will be the topic on nearly every radio show throughout this week. Please make it a point to call in along with other McCain supporters you know to highlight the Senator’s performance.Â
Â
I am attaching two documents. One is a set of talking points and press clippings. The other is a list of call-in numbers for many shows around the state. If there is a show in your area that is not listed and you don’t know the call-in number, PLEASE ASK. I will track it down for you.Â
Â
Also, if you or your friends are successful in getting through, please let me know so that we can track it down.
Â
THANK YOU!
Â

There are a number of REAL Republicans out there who could mount a credible challenge to Senator McGraham. Try these on for size: Charlie Condon, Thomas Ravenel, David Beasley, Mark McBride, Oscar Lovelace, Greg Ryberg, and even Buddy Witherspoon. I like the idea of a large primary field where LOG doesn’t even make the runoff!
